“HOPE IS THE CERTAINTY

        THAT SOMETHING MAKES

        SENSE. . .” (HAVEL)

Sense of Place – I didn’t know all the answers or how this was going
to work, and I would surely make mistakes, but the adrenaline

surged. I just knew that we did not need to be stuck on dreadful. Two

mantras took over. “It’s about dignity.” And, “We don’t need to just

roll over and take ‘it’,” – i.e., the notion that we should stop living
fully. To the best of my recollection, I had not personally known

anyone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. And I certainly didn’t know

of anyone cared for at home. So what quality of life would Mother

experience if provided love and support in a familiar environment?
        This would be revealed.
