By this time, I was a die-hard skeptic, but still accountable. Not
wanting to miss anything, we met with Mother’s specialist. It
wasn’t long before we realized that, as with Aricept, the state- of-
the-art medication prescribed for Mother upon diagnosis,
the side effects of this new
“breakthrough” medicine
impeded her quality of life,
created discomfort, and, on
some days, apparent misery.
Without due diligence,
this, too, would have been
misinterpreted as the
progression of her diagnosis.
By this time, however, we
informed the physician’s office of the adverse side effects, and
made the decision that was a no-brainer.
The pharmaceutical: Namenda.
