who quietly, with dignity, called the meeting to order at exactly
the right moment. “We are here because of my diagnosis.”
At a family meeting which followed in their home, Dad stated that
he thought Mother would have at least “another ten good years.”
He said he would find help with the household. And, they would
be leaving for Sarasota in a matter of days – as they had done for
many years. Their minister would be driving them. Divergent
concerns were expressed but, for now, we returned to our
respective homes.
